This is Vogel’s current painting in progress. The painting is of Flatt and Scruggs and the Smokey mountain boys. James discovered a hole in the wall Bluegrass shop in Columbus Ohio where a few dozen true grit old timers would gather to play. One day James was approached by the man who runs the long running Frontier Ranch Bluegrass Festival to do the logo for the festival and was commissioned to do this painting.
